1 - Exhaust manifold
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
2 - Seal
q   Replace
3 - Lambda probe -G39- (before catalytic converter) - 55 Nm
q   The screw thread on the new lambda probe is coated with a special paste; the paste must not get into the slots on the probe body
q   When re-using the old Lambda probe, grease thread with high-temperature lubricant; the paste must not get into the slots of the probe body; High-temperature lubricant → Parts catalogue.
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
4 - Lambda probe after catalytic converter -G130- 55 Nm
q   The screw thread on the new lambda probe is coated with a special paste; the paste must not get into the slots on the probe body
q   When re-using the old Lambda probe, grease thread with high-temperature lubricant; the paste must not get into the slots of the probe body; High-temperature lubricant → Parts catalogue.

5 - Oxidizing catalytic converter
q   Protect against knocks and impact
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
6 - Seal
q   Replace
7 - 25 Nm
8 - Primary exhaust pipe
q   With flexible connection (de-coupling element).
q   Do not bend flexible connection more than 10° - otherwise it can be damaged
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Align exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter.
9 - Clamp (front)
q   Align exhaust system so it is free of stress before tightening clamp → Chapter
q   Installation position of bolts → Fig.
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly.
10 - M8: 23 Nm; M10: 40 Nm
11 - Spacer bush
12 - Stop
13 - Clip
14 - Plate
15 - 30 Nm
16 - Suspension
q   If this is damaged, replace it
17 - Suspension
q   If this is damaged, replace it
18 - 25 Nm
19 - Secondary silencer
q   In the original factory equipment, this is a single piece with the centre silencer. Can be renewed individually for repair purposes
q   Cutting point → Anchor
q   Renewing tailpipe → Fig.
q   Align exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter.
20 - Clamp (rear)
q   To replace centre and front silencers separately
q   Align exhaust system so it is free of stress before tightening clamp → Chapter
q   Installation position of bolts → Fig.
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly.
q   M8: 23 Nm; M10: 40 Nm
21 - Middle silencer
q   Combined in one unit with rear silencer as original equipment. Can be renewed individually for repair purposes
q   Cutting point → Anchor
q   Align exhaust system so it is free of stress → Chapter.
22 - Suspension
q   If this is damaged, replace it
23 - 25 Nm
24 - 25 Nm
25 - Suspension
q   If this is damaged, replace it
26 - Bolt
27 - Plate
28 - Compression spring
29 - Spacer sleeve
30 - 25 Nm
31 - 40 Nm
q   Replace

   
Installation position of front clamp
–  Install clamp such that end of bolt does not project beyond lower edge of clamp.
l  Bolt connection faces to left.

Installation position of rear clamp
–  Install the clamp so that the bolt end does not project over the clamp lower edge.
l  Bolt connection faces to left.

Renewing tailpipe
–  Cut through old tailpipe at a right angle at cutting point -1- using chain-type pipe cutter -VAS 6254-.
–  Fit new tailpipe -3- so that marking -4- on tailpipe faces vertically downwards.
–  Tighten clamp connection -2- to 25 Nm.
