t  Manual multimeter -VAG 1526C-, see equivalent → Anchor

Operation process
–  Remove luggage compartment floor lining.
–  If necessary, fold forward right backrest of rear seat bench.

–  Loosen the bolts -arrows- and remove the fuel delivery unit.

–  Extract the connector -arrow- from the fuel delivery unit.

–  Connect hand-held multimeter -VAG 1526C- for resistance measurement between contacts -2- and -3- to measure voltage.

  Note
t  If the value 0 Ω is achieved, a short circuit exists; the value ∞ Ω indicates an open circuit in the wire.
t  To check the resistance (values corresponding to „tank full“ or „tank empty“), the fuel supply unit must be removed → Chapter and the sender float moved all the way to its top or bottom positions.
t  With the fuel level indicator sender -G- removed and, due to the large floater range of movement, the following values are obtained:

Installation is carried out in reverse order.
