Verifying the adjustment
–  Remove the engine cover upwards -arrows-.
  E10-10085
–  Loosen the bolt by one turn -1-.
–  Unscrew bolt -2- and nut -3-.
–  Leave the fuel filter to one side with the flexible hoses.
  A20-10245
The following dimensions must be reached:
l  Between the engine support foot and the right longitudinal member there must be a distance of -a- = 13.5 mm.
l  The moulded edge at the engine support foot -2- must be parallel to the support arm -1- (dimension-x- = dimension-x-).
  Note
The dimension -a- = 13.5 mm can be checked, for example, with an appropriate cylinder object.
Adjusting
If the gap is too narrow or too wide, proceed as follows:
  A10-1687
–  Remove the air conduit cover by releasing the side tabs -arrows-.
  A10-10367
–  Unclip the air conduit in the lower part by releasing the tabs -arrows-.
–  Remove the lower section of the air duct together with the air hose.
  A10-10368
–  Remove the electrical connector -1- from the air mass meter -G70-.
–  Uncouple the flexible air hose -3- and the flexible air conduit -2-.
–  Unscrew the bolt -4- and remove the air filter housing.
  A10-10369
–  Disconnect the breather hose -1- and the air conduit hoses -3- and -5-.
–  Unscrew bolt -4- and remove air filter housing.
  A10-1667
–  Remove battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove battery tray -arrows-.
  A10-1572
–  Fit the support tool -10 - 222 A- with the necessary adapters and attach as shown in the figure.
–  Engage the trigger snaps of the spindles on the lifting eyes.
–  Pretension engine with both spindles equally, do not lift.
  N13-10324
–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- of the gearbox/engine mounting
  A10-1642
–  -arrows- one after the other.
–  Renew all 5 bolts one after another (if they have not already been removed when the engine was installed) and screw them in by hand.
  A10-1678
–  Use an iron bar between engine console -1- and support arm -2- to move the engine until the following dimensions are reached:
l  Between the engine support foot and the right longitudinal member there must be a distance of -a- = 13.5 mm.
l  The moulded edge at the engine support foot -2- must be parallel to the support arm -1- (dimension-x- = dimension-x-).
  Note
The dimension -a- = 13.5 mm can be checked, for example, with an appropriate cylinder object.
–  Tighten the bolts of the engine mountings on the engine side to 60 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°).
  A10-1687
–  Note to the sides of the gearbox, the parallelism of the support arm -2- and the gearbox bracket -1- (dimension -x- = dimension -x-).
–  Tighten the bolts of the engine mountings on the gearbox side to 60 Nm + 1/4 turn (+90°).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removing, when doing this note the following.
–  Install battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
