Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Spanner -3122B-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Extractor -T40039-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.
t  Adapter -V.A.G 1381/5A-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Compression tester -VAG 1763-, see equivalent → Anchor

Test prerequisite:
l  Engine oil temperature at least. 30 ℃
l  Voltage supply OK.
Procedure:
   
–  Pull off engine cover panel -arrows-.
–  Remove the ignition coils with output stages → Chapter.
–  Unscrew the spark plugs using the spark plug spanner -3122B-.
–  Check compression pressure with compression tester -VAG 1763- and adapter -V.A.G 1381/5A-.
  Note
Use of the testing equipment → Instructions.
–  A second mechanic activates the starter motor.
–  Operate starter until pressure reading on tester no longer rises.

–  Install spark plugs and ignition coils → Chapter.
–  Erase fault memory of engine control unit after completing work as faults are stored when connector is removed. → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051„Guided function“.
