Test compression pressure
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Spark plug spanner -3122 B-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench (5 - 50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Compression meter -V.A.G 1763-
t  Extractor -T10094-

Check conditions:
l  Engine oil temperature at least. 30 °C.
Operation process
–  Remove the air filter housing → Chapter.
–  Remove ignition coils using the extractor -T10094-. → Chapter
–  Remove the spark plugs with a plug spanner 3122 B.
–  Remove the fuses in order to cut off the power supply to the injectors and the ignition coils. Fuse installation → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
  Note
When removing the fuses, the power supply of the injectors and the ignition coils is interrupted.
–  Check compression with compression meter -V.A.G 1381- or -V.A.G 1763-.
  Note
See relevant test unit operating instructions for instructions on how to use test unit.
–  Operate starter until tester shows no further pressure increase.
Compression values:
new: 10...15 bar
Wear limit: 7 bar
Acceptable distance between cylinders: 3 Bar
–  Fit spark plugs with the plug spanner -3122 B- and tighten to 30 Nm.
Continue installation following reverse order for removing.
–  Consult fault memory; if necessary, repair any faults and then erase fault memory → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051“guided fault finding”
After deleting the fault memory, the conformance code must be generated.
