Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Counterhold -T20167-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
  Note
Before removing the ribbed belt, mark its running direction with chalk or with a felt tipped pen. If the belt runs in the wrong direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.

–  Turn the tension damper towards the -arrow-.
  A13-0083
–  Immobilise the tension damper with the counterhold -T20167--arrow-.
–  Remove poly V-belt .
Fitting
  Note
t  Before fitting the Poly-V belt ensure that all groups (alternator and air conditioning compressor) are firmly assembled.
t  When fitting the ribbed belt, ensure that it is fitted with the correct direction of rotation and that it is correctly seated on the pulleys.
t  For those vehicles not fitted with air conditioning, fit the Poly-V belt lastly on the alternator.
t  For those vehicles fitted with air conditioning, fit the ribbed belt lastly on the compressor for the air conditioning.
–  Fit the Poly-V belt onto the crankshaft and alternator pulleys.
–  Finally, position the Poly-V belt onto the air conditioning/climate control pulley.

–  Release the tension damper and remove the counterhold -T20167- from its interlock-arrow-.
–  Check that Poly-V belt is properly seated.
Continue the fitting, following the reverse order of the removal process.
–  Start engine and check that belt runs properly.
