1 - Bracket
q   For coolant circulation pump.
2 - Coolant circulation pump -V50-
q   Black 2-pin connector.
q   Checking → Chapter.
3 - 10 Nm
4 - To heat exchanger
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter.
5 - Connector
q   Black, 2-pin.
q   For coolant temperature sender.
6 - Securing clip
q   Check for secure seating.
7 - Connector
q   Black, 2-pin.
q   For low coolant indicator sender.
8 - Cap
q   Note oil seal installation position in cap.
q   Renew seal if damaged.
q   Check using cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274- and adapter -V.A.G 1274/1A- and adapter -V.A.G 1274/7-.
q   Pressure relief valve must open at between 1.4...1.6 bar.
9 - Expansion tank
q   Test for leaks in cooling system using cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274- and adapter -V.A.G 1274/7-.
q   Observe markings → Chapter Draining and filling coolant
10 - From heat exchanger
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter.
11 - O-ring
q   Renew if damaged.
12 - 20 Nm
13 - Coolant pipe
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter.
14 - Lower coolant hose
q   From bottom of radiator.
q   Check for secure seating.
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter.
15 - Upper coolant hose
q   To top of radiator
q   Check for secure seating.
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter.
16 - Oil cooler
q   Removing and installing → Chapter, Disassembling and assembling oil filter bracket: engine code AWC.
17 - 15 Nm
18 - Connection
q   For thermostat.
19 - O-ring
q   Renew.
20 - Thermostat
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Observe installation position, → Chapter, Removing and installing thermostat.
q   Checking: heat thermostat in water.
q   Opening begins at approx. 87 °C.
q   Ends at approx. 102 °C.
q   Opening lift min. 7 mm.
21 - Union, 30 Nm
q   For coolant supply pipe.
22 - Coolant supply pipe
q   For turbocharger
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter.
23 - Coolant pump
q   Check for ease of movement.
q   If damaged or leaking, renew complete.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
24 - Toothed belt
q   Mark D.O.R. before removing.
q   Check for wear
q   Do not kink
q   Removing, installing and tensioning → Chapter.
25 - Coolant return pipe
q   For turbocharger
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter.
26 - Coolant temperature sender -G62-
q   Black, 2-pin.
q   For engine control unit.
q   If necessary, release pressure in cooling system before removing.
q   Checking → Rep. Gr.01.
