Fuel level sender 2G169: Removing and installing
Fuel level sender 2 -G169-: Removing and installing
Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Turning tool -T10202-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-1334
t  Tightening torque -VAG 1332-, see equivalent → Anchor
l  The fuel tank should be at half capacity at the most.
  Note
t  Make sure you do not bend the fuel level gauge sensor.
t  Observe safety precautions → Chapter.
t  Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
Removal:
–  First check whether a coded radio is fitted. Check the anti-theft code in this case.
–  With the ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth strap. → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27
–  Remove rear seats → Interior body installation work; Rep. Gr.72
–  Detach the left cover, as seen in the direction of travel, from the fuel gauge sender 2 -G169-.
–  Detach connectors .

–  Open the sealing ring using the spanner -T10202-.

–  Pull fuel level sender 2 -G169- lightly upwards and remove the suction pump.
Fitting .
  Caution
Do not bend the floater arm of the fuel level sender 2 -G169- during fitting.
–  Place the fuel level sender 2 -G169- in the fuel tank.

–  Once inside the fuel tank, place the suction pump over the sender. The clips should engage.
–  The new (dry!) Use seal for sealing flange into the opening of the fuel tank and only dampen the inside (contact surface to the flange) with fuel.
–  Respect the fitting position of the fuel level sender 2 -G169- → Fig.
–  Check the correct position of the sealing ring.
  N20-10134
–  Tighten the sealing ring with the wrench -T10202-. Tightening torques: 110 Nm
–  Connect the connectors.
–  Fit the cover.
–  Install the rear seats → Bodywork, interior fitting work; Rep. Gr.72.
