Removing
Removing
–  To carry out this work it is necessary to disconnect battery earth strap. The vehicle should be checked for a fitted radio. If necessary, obtain the anti-theft code for the radio first.
–  Drain the coolant → Chapter.
–  Drain the coolant.
–  Remove the Poly-V ribbed belt → Chapter.
–  Remove the bolts holding the alternator to the bracket.
–  Remove the alternator without disconnecting the electrical connections and put it to one side, out of the way and without forcing the cables.
Vehicles without air conditioning
   
–  Remove the nuts -1- and the bolt -2- attaching the alternator bracket to the refrigerant pump.
–  Remove the liquid coolant pump pulley by securing it with the -T20159- tool.
Vehicles with air conditioning

–  Remove the screw -1- attaching the compressor to the bracket, and -2- attaching the bracket.

–  Remove the bolt -arrow- attaching the air conditioning compressor to the bracket.
–  Put the compressor to one side, secure it conveniently without putting strain on the installation tubes.
–  If necessary, remove the brackets attaching the air conditioning tubes to the radtiator.

–  Remove the nuts -arrows- attaching the support to the refirgerant pump.
–  Remove the support.

–  Remove the bolt -1- attachig the protection to the pump.
–  Remove the bolts -2- attaching the refrigerant pump to the engine block.
–  Separate refrigerant pump.
  Note!
The refrigerant pump should not be repaired, if any problem is observed such as stiffness or leaking, replace it.
