1 - Expansive clip
2 - Upper protection cover of the notched belt
3 - Notched belt
q   Before removing this, mark the rotation direction
q   Check for wear
q   Do not bend
q   Removing and fitting, tightening → Chapter
4 - 45 Nm
5 - Camshaft cogwheel
q   Remove from the camshaft cone by tapping once with a hammer and punch through the opening in the protective cover for the notched belt
6 - 10 Nm
7 - Rear protection cover of the notched belt
8 - Cylinder head cover
9 - Cover
q   Replace the gasket if it is deteriorated
10 - Upper sealing washer
q   Replace if damaged
11 - Washer
12 - Cap
13 - To the flexible suction tube
14 - Clip
15 - Pressure regulator valve
q   Cylinder block breather
16 - Gasket
q   Replace if damaged
17 - Cylinder head cover gasket
q   Replace if damaged
q   Insert the notches into the holes in the cylinder head
18 - Cylinder block breather
19 - Cylinder head bolt
q   Replacement
q   Follow the correct order for loosening, tightening and the tightening torque → Chapter
20 - Attachment clip
21 - O-ring
q   Replacement
22 - Lower sealing cone
23 - Injection tubes, 25 Nm
q   Remove and fit using the -U-40072- tool
q   Always remove the complete set of tubes
q   Do not modify the curvature
24 - Cylinder head
q   Check for deformation → Fig.
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
q   If replaced, renew all the coolant
25 - Injector
q   Removing and fitting: → Rep. Gr.23
26 - Glow plug, 25 Nm
q   Checking: → Rep. Gr.28
27 - Ring
28 - Cylinder head gasket
q   Replacement
q   Observe the identification → Fig.
q   If replaced, renew all the coolant
29 - 20 Nm
30 - Idler roller
q   For other engine identification letters
31 - 25 Nm
32 - Tension pulley
q   Verification → Chapter
33 - Off centre
34 - 45 Nm
q   20 Nm for a semi automatic tensioner

   
Checking cylinder head for distortion
Maximum allowed distortion: 0.1 mm
  Note!
Diesel cylinder heads may not be flattened.

Identification of the cylinder head gasket
t  -Arrow 1-: Spare part number
t  -Arrow 2-: Checking code (not to be taken into account)
t  -Arrow 3-: Number of notches or holes
  Note!
If the testing of the piston protrusion returns values that are mutually different, for the correct choice of gasket the largest value is used.
