Safety precautions
  Caution
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, due to the cramped conditions, pay attention to the following:
t  All conduits (for example for fuel, hydraulics, carbon filter, liquid cooler and cooling agent, brake fluid, low pressure) and the electric cables must be kept in a position where they will return to their original position.
t  Ensure sufficient clearance from all moving or hot components.
  Caution
t  Fuel and system tubes may over heat. Burn risk!
t  The fuel system is also under low pressure. Before opening the system, a cloth must be placed around the junction. Depressurise, releasing carefully.
t  For all assembly work carried out on the fuel system, safety gloves and glasses must be worn!
When removing the sender for the fuel level indicator from a full or partially full fuel tank, the following must be observed:
t  Before beginning work, place imperitively, the hose of a functioning extractor near the fuel tank space to absorb the fumes escaping from the fuel.
t  If no exhaust extraction system is available, a radial fan (as long as motor is not in air flow) with a displacement greater than 15 m3/h can be used.
t  Avoid skin contact with fuel, wear fuel-resistant gloves!
Observe the following if test and measuring instruments are required during a test drive:
t  Always install the test and measurement equipment in the back seat of the vehicle so that they may be used by a second mechanic.
If the equipment is being operated from the passenger seat, the operator may be injured by an airbag detonation in case of an accident.
