| Measure the compression → Chapter. |
Note!| t | When installing a replacement cylinder head, oil all the contact surfaces between the support elements, the rocker arms and the cam slide tracks before installing the camshaft housing. |
| t | The plastic bases, included for the protection of the open valves, must not be removed until just before installation of the cylinder head. |
| t | After replacing the cylinder head, change all the coolant. |

| q | Check for wear |
| q | Do not twist |
| q | Remove and install, tighten → Chapter |
| 3 - | Toothed return belt |
| q | Check for wear |
| q | Do not twist |
| q | Remove and install, tighten → Chapter |
| 4 - | 10 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) |
| q | Replace |
| q | Tighten from inwards towards out |

| q | Eliminate all sealant residue |
| q | Before positioning, cover with D 188 003 A1 |
| q | For the installation, fit it vertically from above on the studs and pins |

| q | Check that the rocker arm bearings turn smoothly |
| q | Lubricate the slip surface |
| q | For installation, clip it with the safety clip on the support element |

| q | With hydraulic compensation of the valve play |
| q | Lubricate the slip surfaces |
| q | Before installation, measure the axial play of the camshaft → Fig. |
