1 - Engine block
q   Aluminium cylinder block - Components overview → Chapter
q   Piston and conrod - Components overview → Chapter
2 - 50 Nm
q   Tightening order: First tighten the upper right-hand bolt, then the lower right-hand one and finally the left-hand bolts (viewed in direction of travel)
3 - Oil filter
q   Loosen at the hexagonal, using the universal oil filter wrench or the rotation tool -U-40078-
q   Tighten the filter by hand
q   Observe the installation instructions printed on the filter
4 - M8: 20 Nm + 1/4 turn (90º)
5 - Compact bracket
q   For alternator, heating compressor and Poly-V belt tensioner
q   Removing and installing compact bracket in vehicles fitted with air conditioning /heating → Heating, air conditioning/heating; Rep. Gr.87
6 - 13 Nm
Loosen and tighten the bolts on the side of the flywheel using the spanner -U-40051A-
7 - Oil sump
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Fit with a silicon based sealant D 176 404 A2 → ETKA (electronic parts catalogue)
q   Clean sealing surface before installing
8 - Oil purge bolt, 30 Nm
q   In engines where the bolt and ring form a single piece, replace the unit.
9 - Tensioning element
q   For Poly-V belt
q   Only for vehicles fitted with air conditioning (heating)
q   To reduce tension in the Poly-V belt, use a wrench on the tension roller securing bolt.
