Removing
–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.
  E10-10127
–  Loosen quick-type locks -1 and 2- and remove front noise insulation.
–  Remove front bumper cover → Rep. gr.63.
–  Move lock carrier to service position → Rep. gr.50.

–  Open clips -arrows- and remove toothed belt cover.

–  Pivot the tensioner in -direction of arrow-, remove the poly-V belt from the generator pulley, match the openings -Arrow- and stop the tensioner with the locking tool -T40098-.
  Caution
If the poly V-belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.
Before removing, mark direction of rotation of toothed belt with chalk or felt-tip pen for re-installation.
–  Swivel tensioner in direction of -arrow-, detach poly V-belt from alternator pulley and lock tensioner using locking tool -T40098-.
–  Remove poly V-belt.

–  Release hose clips -arrows- and remove air hose.

–  Remove bolt -1- and detach poly V-belt tensioner -2-.
Installing
Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter „Assembly overview - poly V-belt drive“
  Note
t  Hose connections and hoses for charge air system must be free from oil and grease before fitting. Do NOT use lubricant.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
t  To ensure that the charge air hoses can be connected securely, you must spray the screws on used screw-type clips with rust remover prior to installation.
–  Check tensioner for correct seating in bracket for ancillaries before securing.
