Fuel tank with accessory parts: Assembly overview
1 - Fuel supply line
q   To engine.
q   Do not kink
q   To disengage, press the clip in the joint to unlock it
q   Install on fuel tank
2 - Fuel filter:
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
3 - Fuel return line
q   Do not kink
q   To disengage, press the clip in the joint to unlock it
4 - 23 Nm.
q   Secures fuel filler neck and earth connection → Item
5 - Overflow hose
q   Engage in wheel housing
6 - Rubber bearing
7 - Tensioning ring
8 - Seal
q   Replace if damaged
9 - Plug
q   Fitted on tank flap unit with a securing device
10 - Earth connection
q   To divert electrostatic charge
q   Installation position / Testing standard → Fig.
q   Ensure correct fitting of the connector and securely tighten the line with the securing bolt for the fuel filler neck → Item
q   After installation, use an ohmmeter to check the electrical connection between the metal ring on the fuel filler neck and a bare metal part on the body: Approx. 0 Ω
11 - Breather line
12 - Fuel tank
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
13 - Heat shield
q   For fuel filler neck
14 - 2 Nm.
15 - Heat shield
q   For fuel tank.
16 - 2 Nm.
17 - Spreader clip
18 - tension belt
q   Note different lengths
19 - 23 Nm.

   
Installation position of earth connection
–  Place the earth connection as shown in the illustration.
–  First engage contact tab -2- of earth connection in mounting hole on fuel tank -5- and then press in spacer bush -1- if fitted.
–  Make sure that the connector -4- of the earth connection fits correctly to the fuel tank filler metal ring -3-.
  WARNING
Safety risk due to electrostatic discharge.
After installation, use an ohmmeter to check the electrical connection between the metal ring on the fuel filler neck and a bare metal part on the body:
Specification: Approx. 0 Ω.
