Note
In the scope of revising the software, the designation of the components of the electric fuel pump Inline has been changed from „Supplementary fuel pump V393“ to „Fuel pump 2 V277“. This is the same component.
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required

Hose clamp pliers -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor
t
Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331 -, see equivalent → Anchor.
t
Engine sealing plug set -VAS 6122-, see equivalent → Anchor
Caution
Running when dry causes damage to high-pressure pump.
If the fuel filter, the fuel line or the supplementary fuel pump -V393- have to be replaced, the fuel system must bled before starting the engine again for the first time → Chapter.
The fuel system is pressurised. Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.

The temperature of the fuel lines or the fuel may reach up to 100 ºC in extreme cases. Before opening the duct connections, allow the fuel to cool otherwise there is a risk of severe burns.

Wear protection gloves.
t
Wear eye protection.

Unscrew the securing bolts of the engine coolant tank, and remove the tank.

Disconnect the connector -2-, undo the bolt -3- and remove the pressure differential sender -G505- with bracket in the direction of the -arrow-.
Note
Disregard item -1-.

Separate the fuel return line -1- and fuel supply line -2- by pressing on the release tabs.

Disengage fuel hoses -1, 2, 3- at bracket and remove bracket -4-.

Press release tab and unplug electrical connector -1-.

Remove bolts -3, 4- and detach bracket -2- with supplementary fuel pump.

Unscrew bolts -1, 2, 3- and remove bracket -4-.

Detach electrical connector -1- from bracket and move clear at cable retainer -arrow-.
–
Take supplementary fuel pump -6- with rubber mountings -5, 7- out of bracket -3-.
–
Remove fuel hoses -2- and -4-.
–
Seal the open lines of the fuel system using the engine plug set -VAS 6122-.
