Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hose clamp -T10060A-, see equivalent → Anchor
Poly-V belt: Removing → Anchor
Poly-V belt: Fitting → Anchor
Removing
–  Remove the plate of the front right-hand side wheel housing → Remove and fit the front wheel housing; Rep. gr.50.
  Caution
If the poly V-belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.
Before removing, mark direction of operation of poly V-belt with chalk or felt-tipped pen in preparation for re-installation.

–  Pivot the tensioning equipment clockwise -arrow- to relieve tension from poly-V-belt.
–  Lock the tensioner of the Poly-V belt with the locking tool -T10060A-.
–  Detach poly V-belt.
Installing
Install in reverse order to dismantling, noting the following:

t  Before fitting the Poly-V belt, ensure that all sub-assemblies (alternator, air conditioning compressor) are installed correctly.
t  When fitting the ribbed belt, ensure that it is fitted with the correct direction of rotation and that it is correctly seated on the pulleys.
–  First place the Poly-V belt over the crankshaft pulley. The belt is placed last on the tension pulley.
  WARNING
Remove the locking tool -T10060A-.
After finishing the work, always:
–  Start engine and check belt running.
–  Install soundproofing → Rep. gr.66.
