Intake manifold: removing and installing
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench (5... 50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor
Intake manifold: Removing → Anchor
Install intake manifold → Anchor.
Removing
  WARNING
The injection system is sub-divided into a high pressure system (max. approx. 120 bar) and a low pressure system (approx. 6 bar).
Before opening the high-pressure system, e.g. to remove the high-pressure pump, the fuel rail, the injectors, the fuel hoses or the fuel pressure sender -G247-, the fuel pressure in the high-pressure system must be reduced to approx. 6 bar. The procedure is described in the chapter "Reduction of high pressure system pressure" → Chapter.

–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Disengage coolant hose -1- at engine cover panel.
–  Pull out the dipstick.-2-.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove engine cover panel.
–  Remove throttle valve module -J338- → Chapter.

–  Unhook the hoses -1- and -2- from the pressure pipe.
–  Detach the connector -4- from the supercharger pressure sender -G31- with sender -2-input air temperature sender -G299-.
–  Remove bolts -3-.
  N24-10430
–  Press securing clips -1- outwards and pull pressure hose -2- upwards.
–  Then disconnect the pressure hose -2- from the turbocharger.

–  Remove the fuel supply tube -2-. To do so, press the unlock tabs.
  WARNING
Fuel supply line is pressurised. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury and contact with skin. Before loosening hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully pulling hose off connection.

–  Unplug connectors -2-.
–  Release fuel supply line -3-, coolant hoses -1- and the connection hoses from their respective supports.

–  Remove coolant hoses -3- from the intercooler.
–  Disconnect the connection hoses -4- and the vacuum hose -5-.
–  Unscrew the fastening bolts for the intake manifold -1-.
–  Remove the intake manifold -2-.
Installing
Install in reverse order to dismantling, noting the following:
Tightening torque of intake manifold fixing screws: 20 Nm
–  Fill up with coolant → Chapter.
