Removing and installing injectors
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Tool set -T10133-
  W00-1258
t  Torque wrench (5... 50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor
Injection valves: Removing → Anchor
Install the injectors → Anchor
Removing
Note safety precautions before starting work → Chapter
  Note
Every time the injector is dismounted, the teflon seal on the injector must be replaced → Chapter.
–  Now remove the intake manifold → Chapter.
–  Remove intake manifold lower section → Chapter.

–  Press the O-ring upwards by hand as shown and remove from the injector.
–  Fasten the inertia hammer -T10133/3- with the extractor -T10133/15-.

–  Then insert the extractor -T10133/15- in the groove -arrow- of the injector.

–  Remove the injector by carefully tapping.
Installing
Install in reverse order to dismantling, noting the following:

–  Clean the holes for the injectors in the cylinder head thoroughly, using a nylon brush -T10133/4-.
–  Check whether the plastic support washer is damaged and replace if necessary → Chapter.

–  The spring element -arrow- and the Teflon seal must be renewed every time the injectors are dismounted → Chapter.
–  Renew the O-rings between injector and lower part of intake manifold and lubricate with clean engine oil.
  Note
The teflon seal on the injector must not be oiled or greased.
–  Fit the injector by hand as far as possible in the opening in the cylinder head.
  Note
The injector should enter smoothly. Where necessary, wait until the seal has contracted sufficiently.
–  Make sure that the injectors are correctly seated on the cylinder head and that the assembly position is correct.
–  Fit the lower part of the intake manifold carefully onto the injectors and tighten the fastening bolts to 20 Nm → Chapter.
  Note
t  Before assembly, the vacuum switch must be locked with a 2.5 mm drill bit.
t  After assembling the lower part of the intake manifold, remove the 2.5 mm drill bit.
