Oil filter bracket: removing and fitting

t	Removing → Anchor.

t	Installing → Anchor.

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Rotation tool -U40078-

t	Tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6499-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing

–	Drain coolant → Chapter.

–	Remove coolant pipe (bottom) → Chapter.

–	Place the drip tray -VAS 6208- underneath and remove the oil filter -1- using the rotation tool -U40078-.

–	Note installation position and remove oil cooler -2-.

–	Pull out the plug -3-.

–	Remove bolt -1- for oil supply pipe on oil filter bracket.

–	Detach clip -2- and remove crankcase breather pipe.

–	Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove oil filter bracket.

Installing

Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Renew seals, gaskets and O-rings.

–	Install coolant pipe (bottom) → Chapter.

–	Check oil level → Chapter.

–	Fill up with coolant → Anchor.

Tightening torques

Oil filter housing to engine block	15 + 90° → Remark → Remark
Oil supply pipe to oil filter bracket	30
Oil cooler to oil filter bracket	25
Oil filter to oil cooler	20

¹⁾	Renew bolts

²⁾	90° is equivalent to a quarter turn
