Removing and installing Poly-V belt > < Cylinder block (pulley end)

1 - Poly-V belt
q   Check for wear
q   Do not kink
q   Routing of poly V-belt → Fig.
  Caution
Risk of breakage if the poly V-belt runs in the opposite direction when refitted.
Before removing, mark direction of operation of poly V-belt with chalk or felt-tipped pen in preparation for re-installation.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   When installing, make sure it is properly seated on the pulleys.
2 - Idler roller, 20 Nm
3 - 150 Nm and turn 90° further
q   Replace
q   Use retention tool -T10355- to loosen and tighten
  Caution
Risk of damage to engine.
To avoid disturbing valve timing, do not turn crankshaft when bolt is removed.
4 - O ring
q   Replace
5 - Vibration damper
q   With pulley
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
  Caution
Risk of damage to engine.
To avoid disturbing valve timing, do not turn crankshaft out of „TDC“ position when vibration damper is removed.
6 - 40 Nm
7 - Tensioner for poly V-belt
q   Pivot with wrench to slacken poly V-belt
q   Lock with the locking tool -T40098-.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
8 - Bracket for ancillary mechanical units
q   With oil filter and engine oil cooler
q   Removing and installing bracket for ancillaries → Chapter
q   Removing and installing engine oil cooler → Chapter
9 - Alternator
q   Removing and installing → Rep. gr.27
10 - 23 Nm
11 - Bolt.
q   Tightening sequence → Fig.
12 - 23 Nm
13 - Coupling
14 - Vane pump
q   Removing and installing → Rep. gr.48
15 - Air conditioning compressor
q   Do not unscrew or disconnect the refrigerant hoses or pipes
q   Removing and installing → Rep. gr.87
16 - 25 Nm
17 - Dowel sleeve
q   For air conditioner compressor
18 - 23 Nm

   
Tightening sequence on bracket for ancillaries
–  Put the ancillary group bracket in place and tightened the bolt -4- first.
–  Tighten bolts in the sequence -1 ... 5- in 3 stages as follows:
  A13-10378
1.  Hand-tighten bolts.
2.  When tightening bolts, apply 20 Nm torque
3.  Turn bolts 90° further.
