| Unscrew the 2 bolts -arrows-. |

| Carefully pull out the high-pressure fuel pump. It is possible that the sleeve may remain lodged in the exhauster pump. |

| Replace the O-ring for the high-pressure fuel pump. |

| Inset the roller tappet into the vacuum pump (check roller tappet for damage prior to installation). |

| The roller tappet must be positioned at the lowest point when installing the high-pressure pump. |

| If the same high-pressure pump is re-installed, or if a used pump is installed, the connecting piece for the fuel supply pipe (high-pressure side) must be renewed. Refer to high-pressure pump - exploded view (item 11) → Chapter. |

| Turn crankshaft until roller tappet is positioned at lowest point. |

| Fit high-pressure pump in exhauster pump and secure in position. |

| Tighten the bolts by hand. |

| Renew connecting piece at high-pressure pump. |

| Now tighten the screws crosswise to the specified tightening torque, see high-pressure pump - Assembly overview → Chapter. |

| Tighten union nut on fuel supply line hand-tight. Align so that parts are free of tension. |
