Radiator: Removing and installing
Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007A-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Base -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Tightening torque -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
t  Collecting tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removal:
–  Remove front bumper lining → Front bumper lining: Removing and fitting ; Rep. Gr.63
–  Remove the front cross-member → :Lock plate carrier: Installation overview; Rep. Gr.50.
  WARNING
The air conditioning refrigerant circuit must not be opened.
  Note
To avoid damage to the condenser and refrigerant pipes/sleeves, take care not to bend, twist or stretch the pipes/sleeves excessively.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter
–  Pull coolant hoses off radiator.
  WARNING
The air conditioning refrigerant circuit must not be opened.
–  Bring lock plate carrier into service position: → Lock carrier in service position; Rep. Gr.50.
–  Pull connector off thermo-switch and radiator fan.

–  Unscrew the bolts -1- that fasten the radiator to the lock carrier plate.
–  Unscrew the bolts -2- attaching the catalytic converter to the sump.

–  Unscrew the condenser from its attachment to the radiator and secure it to the lock carrier plate.
–  Remove radiator-air duct downwards.

–  Press the upper locking elements -1- on both sides to remove the air duct from the radiator. Take the duct out upwards -arrow-.

–  Remove the clip/s from the cooling agent hose/s.
–  Unscrew the condenser from its attachment to the radiator and secure it to the lock carrier plate.
Fitting .
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:

Secure all hose connections with the correct hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
Fill up coolant → Chapter.
–  Electrical connections and cable layout → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
