Part II Engine block - Assembly overview
1 - cylinder block
q   Dismantling and assembling the aluminium cylinder block → Chapter
q   Dismantle and assemble pistons and conrods → Chapter
2 - 50 Nm
q   Tightening order: First tighten the upper right-hand bolt, then the lower right-hand one and finally the left-hand bolts (viewed in direction of travel)
3 - M8: 20 Nm + 1/4 turn further (90º), M10: 45 Nm
4 - Oil filter
q   Loosen at hexagonal
q   Tighten by hand
q   Observe the installation instructions printed on the filter
5 - 13 Nm
q   Loosen and fasten the bolts on the side of the flywheel using the socket -T10058-.
6 - Oil sump
q   Clean sealing surface before installing
q   Fit using sealant -D 176 404 A2-
q   removing and installing → Chapter
7 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
q   With safety washer
q   Replace.
8 - Bracket
q   For alternator, air conditioning compressor and Poly-V belt tension device
q   Removing and installing compact bracket in vehicles fitted with air conditioning (heating) → Heating, air conditioning (heating); Rep. Gr.87
9 - Tensioner
q   Poly-V belt
q   Only for vehicles fitted with air conditioning (heating)
q   Rotate using a 16 mm spanner for releasing the tension on the Poly-V belt
q   Lock the tension device with the locking tool -T20167-.
q   Poly-V belt: removing and installing → Chapter
