Fuel tank at less than 3/4 capacity: draining
Fuel tank at less than 3/4 capacity: draining
–  Remove the rear seat bench → Bodywork, interior fitting work; Rep. Gr.72.
–  Remove cover from fuel delivery unit.
  WARNING
Fuel supply pipes are pressurised. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury and contact with skin. Before loosening hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then eliminate the pressure by carefully separating the pipe.
–  Disconnect the connector and the fuel pipes.
  Note
To do this, press on the connection buttons for the hoses.
Ibiza
   
–  Open the sealing ring using the spanner -3217-.
Altea - Altea XL - Leon
  A20-0106
–  Open the sealing ring using the fuel gauge spanner -3087-.
Continued for all vehicles
–  Lift the fuel delivery unit.
–  Insert the suction hose of the fuel extractor -VAS 5190- as far as possible into the fuel tank and extract the fuel.
If it is only necessary to drain the fuel tank, re-install the fuel supply unit.
