  Note
Vehicles from 01/2006 onwards are fitted with a new type of toothed belt cover. Differentiation: the top section of the toothed belt guard does not have a cover → Item and the toothed belt guard is divided in the area of the engine bracket. 1 - 10 Nm
2 - Upper protection element for the notched belt
3 - 50 Nm + +180° (1/2 turn) further
q   Replace
q   Use locking spanner -3036- to loosen and tighten → Fig.
4 - Camshaft wheels
q   Installation position fixed with a Woodruff key
5 - 10 Nm
q   Apply locking fluid when fitting
6 - Rear notched belt guard
7 - Woodruff key
q   Check for secure seating.
8 - 25 Nm
9 - Semi-automatic tensioning roller
10 - Coolant pump
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
11 - O ring
q   Replace
12 - 25 Nm
13 - Stabiliser roller
14 - 15 Nm
15 - 35 Nm
16 - Stabiliser roller
17 - Sealing flange
18 - Diamond-coated washer
q   Replace
19 - Crankshaft cogwheel
q   There should be no oil on the contact surface between the notched belt wheel and the crankshaft
q   It has only one installation position
20 - 90 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further
q   Replace
q   Do not lubricate with oil
q   Use locking spanner -3415- to loosen and tighten → Fig.
21 - Notched belt
q   Mark direction of rotation with chalk or felt pen before removing
q   Check for wear
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
22 - Notched belt guard - lower part
23 - Engine support
24 - 40 Nm
25 - Register cover of the notched belt guard.

   
Camshaft sprocket: loosening
–  Use the counterhold tool -3036- when loosening and tightening central bolt.

Detaching camshaft sprocket
–  Remove the camshaft sprocket with the extractor -T40001-, the claw -T40001/6- and the claw -T40001/7-.

Crankshaft toothed belt sprocket: removing and installing
–  Use the counterhold tool -3415- when loosening and tightening central bolt.
