Note| For assembly work the engine must be held with the engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095- to the assembly stand → Chapter. |
| 1 - | 65 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further |

| q | Tighten only up to 65 Nm in order to measure radial play of the crankshaft. Do not retighten. |
| 2 - | Bearing cap |
| q | Bearing cap 1: Pulley side: |
| q | Bearing shell retaining lugs (cylinder block/bearing cap) must be on the same side. |
| 3 - | 10 Nm + further 1/4 (90°) |
| q | Replace |
| q | Replace the sensor wheel each time the screws are loosened → Chapter |
| 4 - | Needle bearing |
| q | For vehicles with manual gearbox |
| q | Press-out and drive in → Chapter |
| 5 - | Generator wheel: |

| q | Replace the sender wheel each time the bolts are loosened. |

| q | Check radial play with plastigage again, new: 0.017 - 0.037 mm; Wear limit: 0.07 mm |
