1 - Supply pipe
q   Black
q   Check for secure seating
q   Routing the lines → Fig.
2 - Return pipe
q   Blue colour
q   Check for secure seating
q   Routing the lines → Fig.
3 - Seal
q   Replace
q   When installing, fit dry in fuel tank opening.
q   Moisten with fuel only when installing flange
4 - Fuel delivery unit
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   If the fuel delivery unit has been replaced, the engine control unit must be adapted to the fuel pump → Vehicle diagnostic tester„Guided function“.
q   Checking fuel pump → Chapter.
q   Note fitting position on fuel tank → Fig.
q   With fuel level indicator sender -G-
q   Removing and installing fuel gauge sender -G- → Chapter.
q   Clean strainer if dirty
5 - Seal ring 110 Nm
q   Check for secure seating
q   Removing and installing with the rotation too -T10202-
6 - Filler cap set
q   With dustguard
q   Removing and installing → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.55.
7 - Plug
q   Replace if damaged
8 - Securing bolt
q   tighten to 1.5 Nm.
9 - Earth connection
q   Check for secure seating
10 - 10 Nm
11 - Suction-jet pump
q   Clipped onto fuel gauge sender 2 -G169-
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
12 - Fuel gauge sender 2 -G169-
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
13 - Fuel tank
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
14 - tension belt
q   Note fitting position:
15 - 25 Nm
q   Replace
16 - Protective plate
q   Riveted with the exhaust system anchorage suspension
17 - Supply pipe
q   Leads to the fuel distributor
q   Check for secure seating.
18 - Fuel filter:
q   Arrow indicates direction of flow
q   Routing the lines → Fig.

   
Installation position of flange for fuel delivery unit and fuel gauge sender 2 -G169-
Mark on flange must coincide with the one of the fuel tank -arrow-.
  Note
The fuel tank mark is hard to discern.

Fuel filter hoses positioning
-1- Vacuum tubing (white).
-2- Fuel distributor vacuum hose (black).
-3- Fuel supply hose, fuel filter capacity (black).
-4- Return hose (blue).
