Removing
If the fuel pressure sender -G247- fails, the fuel pressure regulating valve -N276- is switched off, the electric fuel pump is fully activated and the engine is operated with the fuel pressure which remains. This will reduce engine torque considerably.
  WARNING
Fuel system is under pressure! The pressure in the high-pressure components of the injection system must be reduced to a residual pressure prior to opening → Chapter.

–  Release the coolant piping from the intake manifold -arrows-.

–  Release connector on fuel pressure sender -G247- using assembly tool -T10118-.
–  Unscrew fuel pressure sender -G247- using double hexagon socket, 27 mm -VAS 5301/7-.
Installing
–  Installation is carried out in reverse order.
–  Before fitting the fuel pressure sender -G247-, a check must be made if the connecting support has been tightened to „30 Nm“.
–  Tightening torque of the fuel pressure sender -G247- → Chapter.
