Fuel rail: removing and fitting .
Fuel rail: removing and fitting .
If the fuel rail is replaced then the potentiometer for the intake manifold flap -G336- must be adapted to the engine control unit -J623- with the → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
  Note
The intake manifold must be removed → Chapter.
   
Removal:
–  Remove solenoid valve 1 for activated charcoal reservoir -N80--arrow- from mount.
–  Detach double retaining valve -1- and fuel line -2- .

–  Release hose clip -1-.
–  Remove the hoses from the active carbon deposit. Open the hose clamp.
–  Loosen the two bolts -arrows- of fuel rail.
–  Remove the fuel rail tube from the intake manifold.
Installation
–  Tighten the fuel pipe.
–  Perform remaining installation in reverse order of removal.
–  Re-connect electrical connectors.
–  Installing intake manifold → Chapter.

Tightening torques 
Adapter for the fuel line to the fuel rail25 Nm
Fuel line (union nut) to the adapter for the fuel rail18 Nm
