Engine and gearbox: Separate

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Engine and gearbox support -T20186-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Workshop crane

Premise

l	Engine / gearbox assembly is removed and attached to the engine bracket -T10416-.

Operation process

–	Unscrew the bolt -1- with the gearbox in mounted.

–	Lift the cover plate -2- up and remove.

Note

This is shown in the figure with the gearbox removed.

–	Unscrew the bolts -1…8- on the flange between the engine and the gearbox.

–	Take out starter motor.

Note

The gearbox is shown in illustration with engine removed.

–	Place the support tool -T20186- on the gearbox, as shown in the illustration.

–	Carefully separate the gearbox from the engine, using the workshop crane.
