removing
l  Engine cold.
–  Briefly open filler cap for coolant expansion tank in order to reduce pressure in cooling system.
Altea - Altea XL - Leon
–  Remove air cleaner housing → Chapter.
Ibiza
–  Remove air cleaner housing → Chapter.

All other vehicles continued
–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Press the holder -1- of the electrical wiring harness to the side. Press the coolant hose to one side.

–  Disconnect connector -2- on coolant temperature sensor -G62-.
  Note
Place a cloth underneath to catch escaping coolant.
–  Remove the bolt -1- and detach the coolant temperature sender -G62-.
–  Remove the O-ring and Teflon ring with a small hook without damaging the sealant surface in the process.
installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torques → Chapter
  Note
Replace the O-ring.
–  Install the air cleaner housing → Chapter
–  Check coolant level → Chapter.
