Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Oil pressure tester -VAG 1342-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Voltage tester -VAG 1527B-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Auxiliary cable kit -VAG 1594C-, see equivalent → Anchor

  Note
Functional check and repair of the optical and acoustic oil pressure warning: → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations

Checking sequence
–  Disconnect the connection -1- from the oil pressure switch.
  N17-10209
–  Remove the oil pressure switch -F1- using the 24 mm flexible-head spanner -T40175- and screw into the oil pressure tester -VAG 1342-.
–  Screw tester into cylinder head in place of oil pressure switch.
–  Connect the brown wire of the tester to earth (-).
–  Connect the voltage tester -VAG 1527B- to the battery plus (+) using the auxiliary cable from the auxiliary cable kit -VAG 1594C- and connect to the oil pressure switch -F1-.
–  If the LED lights up, replace oil pressure switch -F1-.
If the LED does not light up:
–  Start engine and slowly increase engine speed. The LED must light up when an overpressure of 0.3 - 0.7 bar occurs; otherwise replace the oil pressure switch -F1-.
–  Increase engine speed further. Bring up to 2000 rpm and raise the oil temperature to 80 °C, the oil pressure should be 2.0 bar at least.
At higher engine speeds, the oil pressure must not exceed 7.0 bar.
Tightening torque, oil pressure switch -F1-: 20 Nm
  V17-0540
