Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hose clamp -3094-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Collecting tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6499-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.
Removing
–  Separate the under body protection.
–  Remove the Poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove the alternator → Electrical system ; Rep. gr.27.
–  Clamp off the coolant hoses -1- of the oil cooler with the hose clamps of up to 25 mm in diameter -3094-.

–  Open the spring-type hose using the pliers for spring type clips -VAS 6499- and remove the coolant hose.
–  Remove the banjo bolt -2- and the securing screw -3-.
–  Remove the oil feed tube,

–  Loosen fastening bolt -1- and remove the bracket.

Installing
–  Fit the bracket for the ancillary units to the cylinder block.
–  Tighten securing bolts -1- to 25 Nm.
–  Fit the oil feed tube.

Tightening torques
Fastening screws of the turbocharger: 8 Nm
Banjo bolt: 20 Nm (replace seals)
–  Connect the coolant hose -1- to the oil cooler and remove the hose clamp.
–  Check the coolant level in the expansion tank and fill the coolant when necessary.
–  Fit the alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Poly-V belt: Installing → Chapter.
Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling sequence.
