Injection system
Injection system
General notes on injection
t  The engine control unit -J623- is equipped with a self-diagnosis function. Before carrying out repairs and fault finding, the event memory must be interrogated. Also, the low pressure hoses and connections must be checked (infiltrated air).
t  Fuel hoses in engine compartment must only be secured with spring-type clips. The use of clamp or screw-type clips is not permissible.
t  For trouble-free operation of the electrical components a voltage of at least 11.5 V is necessary
t  Do not use sealants containing silicone. Particles of silicone drawn into the engine, will not be burnt in the engine and damage the Lambda probe.
t  The vehicles are fitted with a crash/fuel shut-off system. It reduces the danger of a vehicle fire after a crash as the fuel pump is switched off via the fuel pump relay. It also achieves more comfort when starting the engine. When the door is opened, the fuel pump is activated for 2 seconds in order to build up pressure in the fuel system.
