Removing and installing poly V-belts
Removing and installing poly V-belts
t  Removing → Anchor
t  Fitting → Anchor
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hose clamp -T10060A-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-10235
t  Socket wrench e/c 16 -T10447-
t  4 mm Allen key
Removing
  Note
Both clamping elements must be clamped for removing the Poly-V belt.

–  Unscrew the securing bolts -arrows- and remove the engine soundproofing..
–  Remove front right hand side wheel housing protection: → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.66.
–  Mark running direction of poly V-belt.

–  For removing the Poly-V belt of the clamping element, using the socket wrench, e/c 16 -T10447-, turn the clamping element in the direction of the -arrow- from above.
–  Lock tensioner with retention tool -T10060A-.
  N13-10470
–  For removing the Poly-V belt of the clamping element, using the socket wrench, e/c 16, turn the clamping element in the direction of the -arrow- from below.
–  Lock the clamping element with a 4 mm Allen key-1-.
–  Remove the Poly-V belt -2-.
Fitting
Install in reverse order to dismantling, noting the following:

t  Ensure, before installing Poly-V belt, that all ancillaries (alternator, air conditioning compressor) are secured tightly.
t  When fitting the ribbed belt, ensure that it is fitted with the correct direction of rotation and that it is correctly seated on the pulleys.
–  First place the Poly-V belt over the crankshaft pulley. Finally, push belt onto tensioning roller.
After finishing the work, always:
–  Start engine and check belt running.
