Fuel filter: Removing and fitting
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Drip tray
Removing
  Note
t  The fuel pressure regulator is installed on the fuel filter.
t  Note safety precautions before starting work → Chapter
t  Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
–  Place drip tray under fuel filter.
  WARNING
Fuel system is under pressure! Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury and contact with skin. Before loosening hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then eliminate the pressure by carefully separating the pipe.
   
–  Pull fuel lines -1-, -2- and -3- off. To do this press release tab.
–  Separate the bolt -4-.
–  Remove fuel filter.
Fitting
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:
  A20-1082
Installation position
The filter casing pin -2- must fit into the notch -1- of the filter bracket.
Flow direction is marked on filter housing with arrows.
The support bracket screw tightening torque is 3 Nm.
–  Purge the fuel system → Chapter.
  Note
After replacing (fitting) the fuel filter, the fuel supply system should be bled → Chapter.
