Pressure regulator of the fuel and the holding pressure: verification > < checking the seal
Quantity injected: verification
Quantity injected: verification
Check conditions:
l  Fuel pressure must be correct, check: → Chapter
l  Injectors are installed in the fuel rail and the fuel line is connected.
–  Insert injector to be checked into measuring beaker of the injection rate tester -V.A.G 1602-.
   
–  Connect a contact of the injector to be tested to engine earth using adapter cable from adapter set -V.A.G 1594C-.
–  Connect a second injector contact to remote control -VAG 1348/3A- using adapter cable -SAT 1348/3-3-.
–  Connect crocodile clip to battery (+) in engine compartment.
  Note
Use one test tube for each injector.
–  Insert injector to be checked into measuring beaker of the injection rate tester -V.A.G 1602-.
–  Remove cover from fuse holder.

–  Remove fuse F34 for the fuel pump in the fuse holder. Fuse installation → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
–  Join lower contact of fuse 34 for the fuel pump to battery positive (+) using adapter leads from adapter lead kit -VAG 1594C-.
–  Activate remote control -V.A.G 1348/3 A- for 30 seconds.
–  Repeat check on other injectors.
–  After all injectors have been activated, place the measuring glasses on a horizontal surface and compare the injected quantity. Set value: 85...0.103ml per injection valve.
When checking the injection quantity, also check the spray pattern. The spray pattern should be the same for all the injectors.
If the measured values of one or more injectors lie above or below the prescribed specifications:
–  Renew defective injector → Chapter.
