Remove and install the bottom cover of the timing chain > < Valve 1 for camshaft adjustmentN205 Removing and installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1783-
t  Insertable tool with e/c 10 opening -V.A.G 1783/1-
Removing:
–  Push coolant hoses to one side and secure with cable ties.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Removing inlet camshaft control valve 1 -N205-.

–  Unscrew bolts -1…5- and remove upper timing chain cover.
Installing:
–  Lubricate seal and O-ring with engine oil.

–  Tighten the bolts -1 to 5- by hand in the sequence specified:
–  Retighten bolts to 9 Nm using torque wrench -V.A.G 1783- and open end spanner insert (10 mm) -V.A.G 1783/1-.
l  Tightening torques → Chapter
Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling sequence.
