Coolant thermostat: Removing and installing
Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-
t  Tray -VAS 6208-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331/-
t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6362-
t  10 mm articulated wrench -VAS 3185-
t  Hexagon key extension, 5 mm -T10058-

Removal:
  WARNING
Steam may be released when opening the expansion tank. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury to eyes and burns. Cover the cap with a cloth and open carefully.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Disconnect the hoses for the cooling liquid from the connection hose.
   
–  Loosen the fixing screw -4- using the Articulated wrench e/c 10 -VAS 3185- and unscrew them using the socket -T10058- and remove the connecting support -3-.
–  Pull the coolant thermostat out of the engine block using a pliers.
Installing
–  Moisten new O-ring with coolant.
–  Insert the coolant thermostat -1- into the engine block together with the O-ring -2-.
  Note
The coolant thermostat bracket must be positioned vertically.
–  Fit the connecting support -3- and tighten the fixing screws -4- using the Articulated wrench e/c 10 -VAS 3185-. Tightening torque: 15 Nm
–  Push coolant hose onto the connection support and fill with coolant → Chapter.
