Exhaust system: install without stress > < Removing and installing front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter

Removing and installing exhaust manifold
Removing and installing exhaust manifold
Removal:
–  Remove the primary exhaust pipe with catalytic converter → Chapter.
–  Now remove the intake manifold → Chapter.
   
–  Take electrical connection -arrow- for lambda probe -G39- out (before catalytic converter) of the retainer and separate.

–  Unscrew nuts -1- for heat shield -3-, take washers -2- off.
–  Unscrew nuts -8- of both brackets -4-, take washers -7- off.
–  Unscrew remaining nuts on exhaust manifold -6-, take washers off.
–  Remove the exhaust manifold and the exhaust manifold gasket -5-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; noting the following in the process:

Always gaskets and self-locking nuts.
–  Installing intake manifold → Chapter.
–  Install front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter → Chapter.
–  Align exhaust system without tension → Chapter
