Oil pressure warning light : verification
Oil pressure warning light : verification
After switching on the ignition and with the engine off, the oil pressure warning should light up for approx. 3 seconds and then go out. Verification is interrupted if the engine is running.
The optical oil pressure warning (intermittent oil warning light) will be activated and three warnings from the buzzer will be given if any of the following situations occur:
l  Ignition on, engine stopped, oil pressure switch closed
l  Engine revolutions greater than 1500 R.P.M., oil pressure switch open
  Note!
t  Engine revolutions greater than 5000 R.P.M., warning lamp stays on even when oil pressure switch is closed. At less than 5000 rpm warning lamp goes out again.
t  If the oil pressure switch is open at only 0.3 … 3.0 seconds at an engine speed greater than 1500 rpm, the dash panel processor will memorise it. If this happens three times while engine is in operation, the oil pressure warning will be immediately activated and will not turn off even at less than 1500 rpm.
t  Elimination of the oil pressure warning will happen when the oil pressure switch has been closed for more than 5 seconds above 1500 rpm or ignition is turned off.
