Crankshaft oil seal, pulley side: replacement > < Part III

  Note!
For repairs to the clutch: → Rep. Gr.30.
1 - 90 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further
q   Replacement
q   Use tool -T20018A- to loosen and tighten
q   Threads and shoulder must be free of oil and grease
2 - Timing belt cogwheel, crankshaft
q   There must be no oil on the contact surface between the toothed belt and the crankshaft
3 - 15 Nm
4 - Oil seal
q   Replace → Chapter
q   Do not oil
5 - Crankshaft oil seal
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Assemble with silicone sealant -D 176 404 A2- → Chapter
6 - Cylinder block
q   Crankshaft: removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Piston and piston rod: disassembly and assembly → Chapter
7 - 60 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°)
q   Replacement
q   Use tool -T20075A- to loosen and tighten
8 - Engine flywheel
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
9 - Intermediate plate
q   Do not damage/bend when assembling
q   Installation position → Fig.
10 - Crank shaft oil seal with seal
q   Always replace completely
q   Do not oil
q   Ensure absolutely that the seal lip is not damaged or bent during fitting
q   To fit, insert the guide sleeve (supplied with the seal) on the crankshaft
q   For removal and fitting, the oil sump needs to be removed → Chapter

   
Installing intermediate plate
–  Fit intermediate plate onto sealing flange and slide onto dowel sleeves -arrows-.
