–  Place the injector to be checked in a measuring container from -V.A.G 1602-.
   
–  Connect a contact from the injector being checked to engine earth using aux. cables from -V.A.G 1594- or -V.A.G 1594 C-.
–  Connect the second contact of injector to battery positive using an aux. cable to remote control -V.A.G 1348/3A- with the adaptor cable -V.A.G 1348/3-2-.
–  Bridge the contacts 1 + 65 (AZL engines) or 2 + 26 (BBX engines) from the test box using the cables from the -V.A.G 1594A- or -V.A.G 1594C-.
–  Turn the ignition on.
  Note!
After connecting the ignition, the fuel pump will operate continuously if the engine is stopped for the following reason: After connection of the ignition, the relay for the fuel pump is supplied a positive voltage through the electrical switch board. The negative voltage is received through the bridge of the test equipment cables.

–  Operate remote control -V.A.G 1348/3A- for 30 seconds.
–  Repeat test with the other injectors. Use new measuring containers for these.
–  After having stimulated all the injectors, place the five measuring containers on a flat surface and compare the amounts of fuel injected. Specification for each injector: 85 … 105 ml.
If the measured value of one or more of the injectors is out of the tolerance range, disconnect the ignition and replace the defective injector.
If the measured values of all the injectors do not correspond with the specification, check the pressure of the fuel system → Chapter.
  Note!
On checking the fuel injected, it is also necessary to check the spray pattern. The jet should be the same for all the injectors.
–  Fit the injectors along with the fuel rail, taking the following into account:
t  Replace the O-rings of any joint opened (to replace the front O-ring do not remove the plastic cap on the injector head under any circumstance, place the O-ring over the cap).
t  The O-rings should be lightly coated with clean engine oil.
t  Insert injectors vertically and in the correct position into the fuel rail and immobilise with the clips.
t  Position fuel rail over the inlet manifold with the injectors immobilised in position and insert it uniformly.
