–
| Remove the oil pressure switch -F1- of 1.4 bar -A- and screw onto the tester. |
–
| Screw the tester into the oil filter bracket, in place of theoil pressure switch. -F1- |
–
| Connect brown wire of tester to earth (-). |
–
| Connect the voltage tester -VAG 1527B- with the auxiliary cables of the auxiliary measurement set -VAG 1594C- to the battery positive (+) and the oil pressure switch -F1--A-. The diode should not light. |
–
| If the LED lights up, renew the 1.4 bar oil pressure switch -F1-. |
If the LED does not light up: |
–
| Make the engine run at high speed: The LED must light-up when an overpressure between 1.2 ... 1.6 bar a luminous diode should light up. If not, replace the oil pressure switch -F1- |
t
| Oil pressure at engine idle: min. 2 bar. |
–
| Increase engine speed further. At 2000 rpm and with the oil temperature at 80 °C, the oil pressure should be between 2.7 ... 4.5 bar. |
If the specifications are not obtained |
–
| Check the breather tube strainer → Item |
–
| Correct mechanical damage (e.g. damage to bearings). |
–
| If necessary, replace the air filter bracket with pressure relief valve → Item, or the oil pump with balance shaft assembly → Item. |
At higher engine speeds, the oil pressure must not exceed 7.0 bar. |
If specification is exceeded: |
–
| If necessary, replace oil filter bracket with pressure relief valve → Item. |
