Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Spanner -U-40082-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-2238
t  Auxiliary cable kit -VAG 1594C-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench 2:25 Nm -SAT 8010/1-, see equivalence → Anchor
t  Voltage tester -VAG 1527B-, see equivalent → Anchor
Check conditions:
l  Battery voltage at least 11.5 V
l  Ignition is turned off
Checking sequence
–  Extract the connections of the glow plugs.
  W00-10008
–  Connect the cable from the voltage tester -VAG 1527B- to the (+) positive battery terminal using the pincers from the auxiliary measurement set -VAG 1594C- .
–  Place the testing tip of the voltage tester -VAG 1527B- on to each glow plug, one after another.
–  Diode lights up: Glow plug okay
–  Diode does not light up: Replace glow plug
–  Fit the glow plugs using spanner -U-40082- to 15 Nm.
