Intake manifold: removing and fitting (vehicles with engine identification letter BMN)

t	Removing → Anchor

t	Fitting → Anchor

t	Specified torques → Anchor.

Removing

–	Detach the outer -1- and inner -2- engine covers, by pulling them evenly upwards.

–	Dismount the air flexible hose of the intake manifold flap motor -V157- raising lightly the clips -1-.

–	Disconnect the plug connector of the intake manifold flap motor -V157--Item 3-.

Note

Item -2- can be disregarded.

–	Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove the intake manifold flap motor -V157-.

–	Disconnect the connector -1- on the exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- with the potentiometer for exhaust gas recirculation -G212-.

–	Unscrew the screws -2, 3 and 4- and remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- together with the exhaust gas recirculation potentiometer -G212-.

–	Uncouple the depression flexible hose -2- to the pressure capsule for the air flow control.

–	Free the depression hose in the mounting clip -arrow-.

–	Unscrew the bolts -1, 3, 4, 5 and 6-.

–	Remove intake manifold -arrows-.

Note

The upper centre screw is located in the intake manifold interior.

Fitting

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removing, when doing this note the following.

Note

t	Replace seals and gaskets.

t	Secure all hose connections with the correct hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.

Fit the charge air system lines, follow the instructions during this → Chapter.
