t  Valve gear - Components overview → Chapter.
t  Camshaft axial clearance: check testing → Chapter
t  Camshaft oil seals: replace → Chapter

  Note
t  After fitting the camshafts, the engine must not be started until after at least 30 minutes. The hydraulic followers must be allowed to sit in to position (otherwise, the valves will hit the pistons).
t  After carrying out work on the valve control, rotate the engine gently 2 times to ensure that, before starting the engine, no valve is down.
t  Replace seals and gaskets.
t  Removing and fitting the tandem pump → Chapter.
