| Test for open circuits in the wiring between the test box and the double connector, following the wiring diagram. Contact 1+female contact 106 Contact 2+female contact 99 Wire resistance: 1.5 Ω max. |

| Also test the wiring for short circuit between wires. Target value: ∞ Ω max. |
| If no fault is found in the wiring: |
| –
| Loosen the knock sensor and retighten it to a torque of 20 Nm. |
| Take the necessary precautions when doing a road test → Chapter. |
| During the road test the following operating conditions must be met: |
| t
| The coolant temperature must exceed 80 °C |
| t
| Once the temperature has been reached, the following load states must be reached several times idling half load full load deceleration |
| t
| At full load, revs must exceed 3500 rpm |

| Reconsult the fault memory of the control unit. |

| Replace the knock sensor -G61- → Item. |
