Checking conditions
l  Battery voltage, 11.5 V minimum.
l  Ignition off.
l  Control unit for the diesel direct injection system -J248-, correct.
l  Fusible link for glow plugs, correct.
l  All electrical consumers, for example: the lights and heated windscreen, must be turned off.
Checking process

–  Extract the 4 contact connector from the coolant temperature transmitter -G62--arrow-.
  Note!
On taking the connector out of the transmitter, we simulate cold engine. When the ignition is turned on, the corresponding preheating process will be carried out.
–  Extract the connectors from the glow plugs.
–  To measure the voltage, connect the multimeter between a glow plug and the vehicle ground.
–  Turn on the ignition. For some 20 seconds, the approximate voltage of the battery must be indicated.
–  If there is no voltage → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
